[00:00:00] Speaker A: Expression is who we are. Take control. The all new Talk Radio Freedom 106.5 Speak your mind.
[00:00:08] Speaker B: Good morning to you. Dirk Barnes, Air Support Tactical. Good morning and welcome to the car care segment this morning.
[00:00:16] Speaker C: Good morning Davey and I see you're very passionate this morning. Sign in a bit late.
[00:00:22] Speaker B: Yeah, I know.
[00:00:23] Speaker C: I heard your last analogy and I would want to tell you that if we were to go into that talk I might really and truly piss you off a little bit further because I think you're missing some key components to that argument.
[00:00:37] Speaker B: I will allow you that statement for the mere fact that you didn't get the first part of my preamble when I said I understand the bill there are certain things that will be that we should be concerned about the curfews that doesn't carry the 72 hour limit anymore. The fact that an area can be locked down when it was previously 180 it seems to be indefinite but it's not really because there's a two year clause on this, on this bill. I understand that persons would not but be innocent person might have to stay inside the house from nine in the night till whatever the shopkeeper might have to close a little early so sales will drop the burger cart. I understand all of that.
We could relook and revisit those things with the bill.
I understand that. I am not saying that those things are right. I'm saying that we could revisit it just like how we we forced them to come back with is also and they come back with a new one we could push back against it. They have the in the, in the upper house they, they don't have the majority. They still had to get to independence senators to join the free so we could look at it. I understand that but the part that that irks me is if you pushing back this is the part that, that, that that got me annoyed when well I shouldn't say annoyed that got me to be in disagreement with some persons who felt that my analogy was off.
KEITH Scotland MP FOR THE I think it's Port of Spain. I'm not sure. I can't remember.
Certain individuals and communities are worried about this bill that is going to stigmatize areas or pick out areas that are prone with criminal activity and stigmatize them and lock them down and put them in another mental state of imprisonment. They're not in prison. They're in the free will in prison because they're free movement and all this is is on the table. I understand that but here's the thing, okay, Prime Minister says, okay, you don't want it in your area, no problem.
I would not pass anything or go through any powers that I have to put it in your area. But you see, my areas that they voted for us. We'll put it here. See how it works.
I made.
Go ahead, make it.
[00:02:39] Speaker C: Make your point on the interruption.
[00:02:41] Speaker B: Go ahead.
[00:02:43] Speaker C: Let's go back to where this is all started. This is going back to a simple failure to get crime under control.
Now that is a holistic approach.
And people like to blame police for crime. And I keep saying they can't blame police for crime. You have to blame the criminals for crime because the criminals are the ones who committing the crimes, right?
When you bring something like ZOSU and it comes in there, the people who are most affected are the law abiding, right? And this bill is asking the law abiding to say, hey, give up some of your rights so we could catch the people who are criminals. The people who are criminals, by the way, who. We know who they are, we know them, everybody knows who they are.
But we want to catch these criminals. So give up your rights.
But while you're giving up your rights and we're looking at the SOE as an example, we will use this opportunity of suspending rights to politically attack some of our opponents.
That is my problem. Now you touch back, but let's go back to.
Sorry to bring this up on this particular.
[00:03:54] Speaker B: That's fine, that's fine.
[00:03:56] Speaker C: But let's go back.
Can anybody yet explain to me how one minute we have evidence on an individual, the individual was taken on a pdu, incarcerated or put into, into a jail. He, his wife and his wife's aunt I and then afterwards he realized that he didn't do anything, the wife didn't do anything and all the aunt did was complain on a phone call.
But the three of them were incarcerated.
Now we heard all sorts of utterances on the radio and the media that these people were involved in all kind of high crime and all these different things yet to be proven. But they were released off of the EPDO and they recognized that, hey, you didn't really have the evidence. So where did the intelligence break down? Because somebody responsible for that, you have the head of the ssc, you have the commissioner of police. Somebody would have said to the commissioner of police, hey, we have enough evidence to have people arrested. And he would have acted on that, on that intelligence and moved on that intelligence.
So our apparatus is broken. Now you want to add that same apparatus that we have not yet fixed and put as Zozo.
So who going to get locked up next?
So we have to be thinking about these things because it's not just about going after criminals. This is about asking the law abiding citizens of the country, let's say the 99% of the country to say hey, you're going on give up these rights. Let us be in control.
Let us tell you when you could move inside your areas. Let us tell you when you could go to work and when you can't come home because you could trust us with, with that. But when we had an SOE we couldn't trust.
So I would want to end with that. You have to think about those things. Now I am not against it. I have come on this show and many other shows before and I've spoken about how these zosas could run because I understand the Jamaican model.
But there were checks and balances and there were checks and balances that right now I question.
So some people would ask because many people ask me when I share this view. So what do we do?
We have to go back to what are the strategies that working can work and should be implemented without a Zoso, without an soe. And the challenge that I have right now, and I probably have to say it publicly is maybe we don't have the right person in that particular chair. I wouldn't call it chair to run that organization to bring these things to into effect.
Because I would go back to a gentleman. I'm not talking about people who would say in recent times I would go back to a gentleman who had a long stint in that same particular chair, called his name Stephen Williams, an excellent administrator, an excellent operational planner, somebody who looked at strategy and even though it was at a time when crime was escalated, was building the particular that Trianbago police service to the point that when it was handed over the next person who grabbed the baton had a lot to work with.
So you see there are strategies that can be implemented, but you also have to get government buy in to ensure that when you put those strategies in place there are other social services and social activities that could take place to help diminish the the crime wave that we have. And we are not looking at it like that. So what we're doing we want to take, we want to militarize the police service and look at what they look at what we just be seeing now. Many camouflage no more gray and things men in camouflage now coming out and jumping out of vehicles and arresting youth standing on the Streets and stuff like that. Because that is how we perceive the threats of those youths, that they are military aged individuals.
So what do we do? We put military behind them. You know what they will do? They will escalate. So what? We're going to start bringing tanks to go after these criminals in the future.
All because we cannot come up with a strategy on how to deal with these things. We can't come up with interventions to deal with this crime rate. But we want to militarize zones now and quarters also. I will leave you with that delay.
[00:08:19] Speaker B: I agree with what you're saying.
I don't disagree with law abiding citizens being affected.
We sacrifice certain years of our lives to get our degrees, to get education in order to better ourselves for the future.
We make sacrifices, we all do.
You got to be where you are because of sacrifices that you would have made to build your business to the success rate that you have for the last 15 years.
Some sacrifices some people are willing to give up and others aren't. Some people say, listen, when I go to the grocery custom buying this and that and that, I cut them back on all these things for my health so I have better health in the future or because I am studying, I'm heading towards this goal that is going to put me in a position where I can go to the supermarket and close my eye and just buy what I need, what I want rather than what I need. So people sacrifice. So we make a sacrifice for the safety of our community.
Yes, there is collateral damage that will happen. Okay, I agree.
The only thing I had a problem with is if you don't want something and I say okay, I'm not giving it to you again. I will give it to these people who want it. YFX I'm not disagreeing with the fact that the bill has flaws. There's grave concerns.
[00:09:39] Speaker C: Not negating that David has a chain up. All jokes aside as a chain up because if it is you, you are saying that the way I look at it like a chain up. And everything I'm about to say now is just my opinion.
[00:09:53] Speaker B: Of course, of course it's just an opinion. We agree. We agree.
[00:09:56] Speaker C: Yeah, right.
You put not a bill that is a Trinidad and Tobago.
The laws of Trans Tobago. It's not the laws of a political party. It doesn't just affect the people of the political party, affects everybody.
[00:10:10] Speaker B: Everybody.
[00:10:11] Speaker C: When you take, when you give me that chain up, this is what I am thinking happens. Oh, we're only going to give it to the section of people so the Other section said, well, no, no, no. Or same section of people who say they didn't want it. All of a sudden, why only give it to them?
We should need it too, so it should be for everybody. And they said, right, we'll give it to everybody. And then we start to target. That's those same communities. You understand that when it comes, it will only go and protect particular communities. Come on, man, we know better. We have seen so many things.
[00:10:36] Speaker B: What about criminal migration?
[00:10:39] Speaker C: And that is another. Another phenomenon that we also have to look at because coming back to a statement I made a while ago, we know who the criminals are. The problem is that the Transnebago Police
[00:10:49] Speaker B: Service to have the intelligence.
[00:10:52] Speaker C: They have the intelligence. I just understand the difference. They have the intelligence. What they don't have is the evidence.
[00:10:59] Speaker B: There you go. All right.
[00:11:01] Speaker C: And this is where we are in
[00:11:03] Speaker B: our car care segment this morning. I want to tie it in to those that, that go by people that purport to be good when it comes to GPS tracking, when it comes to protection of your vehicle as opposed to going to air support tactical. You mentioned it a few, a few weeks back where somebody by another firm comes to you to track their car that goes missing. Let's talk this morning. If you didn't come by me first to get, you know.
[00:11:30] Speaker C: And that is song. When you just explain like that sometimes that is song. As though we spite some people we. Because it didn't come. But let's. Let's get down into the. What the law allows for.
[00:11:40] Speaker B: That's what I want to get to. That's the point where I recently. Go ahead.
[00:11:43] Speaker C: So we fall under the Supplemental Police act, which means that when myself and my officers respond, we are responding with a certain degree of authority that we can arrest, for example. And if something goes wrong, the liability does not and does not rest on us because we have some degree of immunity, some degree. It does make us immune from everything. Similar to what happens with the Trinity Police Service and officers of the translated police service.
Now, the law under the Supplemental Police act gives me that ability in all divisions as it relates to the estates of all my customers in those particular divisions. That's what the law says.
Now, when you are not a customer, I cannot just randomly pick up and take my team and this is point number one, take my team and go and perform operations because all of a sudden I said I would pay for this as number one. Number two, when somebody takes GPS from us over a period of time, we start to see their habits, their movements and stuff. Like that. So if it is, they call us and say, hey, my car is stolen. We already have a relationship with them because we know who they are. We know that this is a legitimate cause. We know this is not a setup because we would have done our due diligence. We would have checked IDs and certified copies and all these different things. You randomly call us and say, hey, my car got stolen. Can you help me? And expect that we will just trust you and go into an area that could very well be an ambush. We wouldn't do something like that. So it's not that we're spiting people who are under pressure, but you chose somebody else and you chose to have that relationship with them.
You really and truly need to speak with them and let them do what it is they promise you to do. I had a call that happened just this week. Today's what, Wednesday. So this would have come in on Monday. I was on site and the project management site, and people called me and they said, hey, we have some people asking some assistance. And I first question, are they a customer?
[00:13:43] Speaker B: No.
[00:13:43] Speaker C: Okay, there's not much we could do. The persons kept calling back, calling back. And until eventually I spoke with and they said, well, you know, we were X company, what we call name of the company that advertises just as much as many other companies advertise. And they said that they had recovery. And when they called the company, the company did not answer. The company called them back when they told them what's going on, and then all of a sudden, no more information. And when they recognized that the device was finally offline, the company just said to them, well, there's nothing else we could do. And that was the end of that. No further investigation, no other checks. So they reached out to us.
Now, I really don't like talking about that anymore in terms of those types of companies, because I think people now are wiser and they sort of ask the questions. Based on the calls that we get now, people normally ask us, do you guys offer recovery? Where does the recovery come from? Is it in house or is it that you call in somebody else and stuff like that? And when we tell them no, they all in house. We are supplemental police and all these different things. That is when we see those persons turn to customers. So for those other people who are still naively seeing ads and going for the cheapest GPS on the market, if something goes wrong, please, please call your company, the company that took your money. Call them. If they don't answer, keep calling them until eventually somebody Answers and tells you there's nothing more they could do.
[00:15:07] Speaker B: What other technical challenges would you face as a GPS company where it relates to somebody else from another company with another GPS tracking system? And they come to you because they were unable to get onto that company for your company because you have GPS to track their vehicle?
[00:15:23] Speaker C: Well, the biggest one here right now is anti jamming. Now, you see in a lot of companies advertising the anti jamming capability. Now, I've seen one company switch their conversation very, very quickly. On one ad they put out, you said, if you have anti jamming, they answer the person and say, in all of the recoveries that we have done, not once or anybody use a jammer. So that is not something that you need.
A few weeks later they came and you started seeing anti jambling showing up in their ads. I laugh. But the interesting part is that we have purchased devices from nearly every single GPS company, country. I support tactical, I bought it.
And when I buy them, I normally try to see, well, okay, what is the. How is this thing really built? What does it do? And when we apply jammers to these different scanners and stuff like that, some of them do work, others don't, but the ones that do work are only working from the point of when it loses the signal, it just shuts down the car.
Now, as in previous shows, I would have told you, based on current warranties, based on the dealerships and how these new cars are coming in, you cannot immobilize those vehicles vehicle. So they're using an old analog type of immobilizer function attached to the gps, which really and truly is not the best thing. So when we go here about anti jamming, anti jamming does not work. Now, when you talk about wireless devices, those devices that you have to charge and stuff like that, that has absolutely no anti jamming. So if anybody outside there tells you that there is anti jamming for their wireless devices, they're lying to you. And we could prove it.
But as you switch to counter jamming, countermeasures, this is tracking a vehicle beyond the event of the jamming. That is something that we developed. So when a vehicle is, when the device is being jammed, we know you can jam the signal. We know that there's nothing you could do to stop somebody from trying to jam a signal or deny your GPS to the signal. But our GPS will switch to another carrier frequency or another type of. Of jam of tracking to which we could still find the area, get into the area, put up our drone and find the vehicle. And that is Something that we have used. The first time we launched that back in 2024, I think it was either May or June.
Within weeks of talking about the German countermeasures, we had to use it. And we found that Tucson out in the back of Paramount. So even the police officers who came there watch us in awe. They were like, how will they find this inside of here? They have no signal, have nothing. But we found the vehicle.
So you see it have a lot of advancements that are taking place right now in the realm of GPS tracking, some of them that we are building ourselves. And when you end up in a scenario where you bought something cheap again, call that company and let them tell you if they can or cannot find.
[00:18:13] Speaker B: Let's talk a little bit about the dangers of getting immobilizers and GPS systems installed in cars where warranty is still there, where infrastructure on the vehicle, factory installed apparatus, wiring, harness and all these things.
Does a customer need to interfere with those things? What are some of the dangers? And outside of that, can you explain yet again? Because one person now asking me the same question and I'm happy we could repeat the information.
Your company, how it deals with these installations that doesn't affect the warranty if something goes wrong.
[00:18:55] Speaker C: So to start with, let me, let me say this first because I don't want to forget Air support Tactical gives a guarantee to all of our customers that if any of our installations causes any defect to your vehicle that causes a warranty infringement, we withstand the cost of the repair. I'm saying it on radio, I'm saying publicly, I don't have to lie about it. But keep in mind that particular claim must be proven. And we would use an independent investigator to prove that because I just don't want the random person. And I'll give you a story, but I'll just don't random company saying, well, hey, this cause this, this problem you have in here with your rust, this is because of the gps. Come on. Because they have companies who do shipments like that. Up to this week I had a. A vehicle, a Honda vessel that came in and the person's complaining that battery running down, the battery running down and stuff like that. Now, David, I spent thousands of dollars on battery testers. People should go online and look, look at those things. That does a full battery report. So we put the system on, we ran the system, went through the sequences and stuff to show that a. The battery health was less than 100%. It was closer to 60%.
When you have a battery health like that, that means that battery is going to start to fail you. And what was happening with this person, he had extra fog lights and all these other things. So when those things were on and he started the car, the car would not start. So it was a bad battery. You know, the company bought the vehicle. Who installed all of them extra aftermarket things. All they did was put a 12 volt tester and see people saying 12 volts and 12 now man, the battery is good. So whereas we can give a report they telling and you could print out that report and go back to them, they using that and say now the battery got the problem is the gps. So those are the kind of claims that we see no testing. The persons are not certified, they have no sort of equipment, they don't even have a document that they could stand behind your name. I have spent that money to make make sure my diagnostic station has all of those things so that we could give the report to the customer. Now you're talking about warranties and stuff like that. And first you need to understand how cars work. Now cars are not just a carburetor and a fuel pump and an engine. No, it's not like that. Now it's a bunch of computers running a bunch of components. And those computers talk to each other. They talk to each other through something called the communication area network bus, which is the canvas that can bus which is moving information back and forth between these different computers. If you interrupt that canvas you could cause a very critical instruction code or reading to not reach or to reach somewhere that it is not supposed to go. And when that happens, your car could be mobilized or it could cause another computer somewhere because of the amount of resistance that you created on that particular line to go back. In which case that is where the warranty infringement starts. That normally happens when people start to cut wires or they splice the wire splices, taking off the insulation and wrapping their wire around it and taking it out of splicing or tapping. Another word for that, that is what causes that. So what we do as a, as a responsible company, we don't cut and we don't splice on top. We take an approved method and this approved method comes from the companies. Now I'm not talking about the local dealerships and I am talking about manufacturers who give recommendations as to where you can put. You can get power for aftermarket devices. Every single vehicle manufactured in this world will at some point somewhere inside of it, have an aftermarket device power on its 12 volt system. Why? Because if you check it, all of those vehicles will want to get contracts with the government.
And when they want to get contracts with different governments, it's for law enforcement and fire and health and all these different things and what you have to install on those things, radios, lights and sirens and all these different things. So let us, let us put sense out of nonsense.
At the end of the day, cars can't take aftermarket. But it must be done correctly. It must be done by somebody who's certified to be able to do that.
[00:22:50] Speaker B: Dirk, I want to thank you for that part and I want to pick it up next week where you talk about the certification by those companies.
So persons because the person now saying if we can do another talk conversation and it's next week for sure. So that's what we will revisit next week as we continue our discourse. I thank you very much. And you was approved for the little time that you run late this morning. It was approved, stamped and approved.
[00:23:15] Speaker C: Thank you. Have a good one.
[00:23:16] Speaker B: Same to you, buddy. Take care.
[00:23:17] Speaker A: Expression is who we are. Take control. The all new Talk Radio Freedom 106.5. Speak your mind.
