[00:00:01] Speaker A: The best insight, instant feedback, accountability. The all new talk radio Freedom 106.5. [00:00:08] Speaker B: Welcome to our program Charulochan Das. [00:00:12] Speaker C: Good morning to you. [00:00:13] Speaker B: Good morning. [00:00:14] Speaker D: Thank you for having us. [00:00:16] Speaker B: Also to Rajeev Samuru. Welcome to our program. [00:00:20] Speaker C: Morning. [00:00:20] Speaker A: Good to be here. [00:00:21] Speaker C: So I know that we have a whole scripted interview about all that going on and that kind of thing, but let's take it from this perspective. [00:00:27] Speaker B: Ashe Abraham's fresh in our minds, people still very much celebrating all that she's been able to achieve for us. The process is starting, actually I did. The process is starting now to find the next individual who's going to represent us. [00:00:44] Speaker D: Correct. [00:00:45] Speaker C: So let's, what is the process? [00:00:47] Speaker B: What happens? [00:00:48] Speaker D: Well, the first thing is, first step is screening. So screening is happening this Sunday at higher 09:00 a.m. To 05:00 p.m. And yeah, basically you come in front of a screening panel, you're going to be asked questions. The hunt is on, literally. The hunt is on for our next Miss World Trinidad and Tobago. [00:01:14] Speaker C: So let's look at some of the people who want to put themselves in. [00:01:17] Speaker B: The category of being hunted. How does one, let's, okay. We have lots of people listening into us and, and they're interested. Sounds good. [00:01:25] Speaker C: I want to be the next ashley. I want to even do better than. [00:01:27] Speaker B: Her and I think I have the potential. How does one get about get involved? [00:01:33] Speaker C: What's the process? [00:01:34] Speaker D: So you can register, you can register via our website, which is www.missworldtranidadantobago.org, or you can reach out to us via our hotline, which is 334-4719 that is 334-4719 just message us WhatsApp us. It's that easy. Just send us a WhatsApp. Any questions, any queries, we'll send you the form, you fill it out, you send it back to us. For some reason, if you haven't been able to or haven't had the opportunity to send in an application, it's absolutely fine. We are accessible. On the day of screening. I know we saw this last year, you know, there were girls that decided the morning of, like, they were on the fence, you know, and weren't sure because they're thinking like, I have stage fright or, you know, am I good enough or I have big shoes to fill. I can't speak in public. All these, you know, questions or uncertainties and we had girls shown, showed up for screening on the day of. One of them became our first runner up. The other one placed in top five. They've all advanced so well in their careers, so many opportunities. They have been, you know, traveling throughout the region, you know, doing shows, modeling gigs, and so many opportunities have opened up, have come to them, you know. So I want to urge you young women out there, I. I know what it is like. I understand, you know, being a young woman having big dreams, you don't know where to start. You know, you probably don't have the avenues or the resources or whatever a platform like this is here to help you actualize those dreams. Really and truly, each girl that goes through this cycle comes out a winner because there's so much growth and development of each individual that happens throughout this process because of the kind of training. There's a lot of training, a lot of rigorous training that goes into it. But at the end of it, you are equipped with life skills. You can walk into a room and command a room. You can walk into any interview and ace it. You can make throughout the process, make great connections because of the kind of people that you're exposed to throughout the two month run, which is something that you may not have had access to before. So I think it's a great. It's a phenomenal platform and great opportunity, a once in a lifetime opportunity for any young woman who wants to create a legacy for herself, who wants to put herself out there and represent our twin islands on an international platform. [00:04:35] Speaker B: I know that we've spoken to several delegates. [00:04:38] Speaker C: I'm not sure if it's from this very same franchise, forgive me, because we speak to so many people, but one. [00:04:44] Speaker B: Of the overarching comments that came from all of them is that the process exposed them to how much more this thing really entails, rather than just looking pretty. [00:05:00] Speaker D: Absolutely. [00:05:01] Speaker C: And they all came out of it. I interviewed a couple of them saying that even if they were not selected. [00:05:07] Speaker B: They'Ve come out a different person that they went in. [00:05:10] Speaker D: I believe that. I've seen it. I've seen it year after year after year. And I could speak from our last cohort, which was my first cohort, like, this is only my second year as franchise Holder. But there has been a huge change in the perception of pageantry. Now, I don't mean this in any negative way, but I mean business. We're about doing well, doing country proud, doing yourself proud, doing your community proud, your family proud. I keep saying, you know, this is about creating role models for the future society of Trinidad and Tobago. This is essentially what we are doing. We are creating great role models for the future. [00:06:01] Speaker B: Well, you've done an exceptional job. First time around, that's for sure, with Ashe. [00:06:06] Speaker C: And I'm sure that it's only going. [00:06:07] Speaker B: To go from strength to strength. [00:06:09] Speaker C: But there's a decision that needs to be made in the minds of anyone. [00:06:12] Speaker B: Any young lady listening in to us this morning, and they have to self evaluate themselves, am I good enough for this thing? [00:06:20] Speaker C: To the people who are listening in to us and would be in their. [00:06:24] Speaker B: Minds trying to say, well, what if. [00:06:26] Speaker C: I could make this? If I was in my time, should I try this or should I not? [00:06:30] Speaker B: What's the advice to them? [00:06:32] Speaker D: Take a chance on yourself. [00:06:33] Speaker C: There's nothing to lose. [00:06:34] Speaker B: There's no risk. [00:06:35] Speaker D: Yeah, take a chance on yourself. I mean, think about it. Young women take chances on so many frivolous things. We take chances on men, on relationships, on stupid things. You know what I mean? Take a chance on yourself. [00:06:48] Speaker B: But other requirements like that, like people. [00:06:50] Speaker C: Would need a base requirement or. [00:06:53] Speaker B: So, is there any of those requirements. [00:06:55] Speaker C: For people to come to at least. [00:06:57] Speaker B: Come to the screening to say, well. [00:06:58] Speaker C: You need to meet. [00:06:59] Speaker D: There's a limit, there's an age limit. There's no specific height or weight stipulation per se. [00:07:08] Speaker B: Right. [00:07:08] Speaker D: But I mean, you must look the part. You know, you must be born in Trinidad. You must be a citizen of Trinidad. Trinidad and Tobago, yes. And you must be born a woman. No criminal records, those type of things. Okay, the base criteria. But there's no criteria per se that you must have a PhD or a degree or a masters or anything like that. For example, Ashe came from the creative field. She studied acting. She didn't, you know, come in with a degree or masters or anything like that. That's why she got a scholarship. No, she can pursue a masters now. But it doesn't matter what. What background you have or come from. You know, this is. This is so much more than. Than that. [00:07:58] Speaker C: I was looking at some of the information that's. That's on social media already about this thing. [00:08:02] Speaker B: The search begins. Over half a million dollars in cash and prizes. Tell us about some of those, quickly. [00:08:07] Speaker D: And this has never been done in Trinidad and Tobago before. [00:08:11] Speaker C: Yeah, we're still in Tuscany. I didn't realize all of this was at stake. [00:08:14] Speaker B: Up for grabs. [00:08:16] Speaker D: First of all, $100,000 in cash. I have to say a huge shout out and thank you to our sponsors. West be supermarket. In fact, all our sponsors who have really seen the value in this and without us, without a second thought, just jumped on board. And, you know, they're there for our. Our young women, our girls, because they see the value in it, they see how big this is and how important this is. I keep reminding our young women, this is not just about yourself. This is so much bigger than you. It's a national conversation. This is bigger than you. We have a scholarship, a $20,000 scholarship from Sam School of Accounting and Management. We have a full wardrobe sponsored by various designers and local retailers. We have frontline costume sponsored by Tribe. We have executive training for modeling, fitness, speech protocols, etiquette, and beauty. We have dental care, which is sponsored by Dental Lounge, which is a $20,000 package as well, and lots more. There are a lot, lot more prizes that could not be fitted into this flyer. [00:09:29] Speaker C: Yeah, definitely. We are out of time for the interview, but let's get to the nitty gritty. Who and why? [00:09:34] Speaker B: Where, how, where is this going to take place? [00:09:36] Speaker C: When is it? And, and what do people need to walk with when they're coming? [00:09:40] Speaker D: Okay, so screening is happening on Sunday. That is this Sunday, the 7 April at Hyatt. 09:00 a.m. To 05:00 p.m. We require that you walk with a swimsuit. Now, there is no longer swimsuit competition parts segment, but we still need to see you in a swimsuit because we need to see the form, we need to see the body type that we're working with for various things like gowns, like fitness training, all those things. Right? You need to walk with a pair of high heels. You need to walk with your resume, two character references, and a completed application form, which you can do at the venue. And that's it. Just bring your personality, bring your best self, bring your. Put your best foot forward, and we are looking forward to meeting you. [00:10:32] Speaker B: Well, there's just one final question as. [00:10:34] Speaker C: We, as we wrap up. [00:10:36] Speaker B: Is there anything in particular? Because you would have the rudimentary that. [00:10:41] Speaker C: You'Ve spoken about, but you said that. [00:10:43] Speaker B: You want somebody who can be a. [00:10:46] Speaker C: Role model, a shining light, a guiding. [00:10:49] Speaker B: Star to people, not just in the country, but to whomever they're exposed to. What are some of the things that. [00:10:54] Speaker C: You'Re looking for in individuals? [00:10:57] Speaker D: Is there specifically, I mean, apart from being beautiful? I think intelligence is very important. The way that you speak, your speaking abilities, of course, you don't have to come polished. That it's is part of the process. When you go through that, we. We chisel out all these things and really perfect it. But, yes, some great speaking abilities we'd love to see. You know, some people just have an aura. They have that spark. You walk into a room and they just have something special about themselves. We're looking for that because it really takes a special woman to bring home the crown. [00:11:34] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:11:34] Speaker D: And, I mean, essentially, that's what we're working towards to put Trinidad and Tobago back on the map with Miss World. [00:11:42] Speaker C: Yeah. I'll tell you this, I. I had. [00:11:43] Speaker B: The opportunity to interview Ashley just after she was crowned. [00:11:47] Speaker D: Yes. [00:11:48] Speaker B: And I speak to a lot of people, and she impressed me. It takes a lot. It really does take a lot to impress me. [00:11:54] Speaker D: Same. [00:11:55] Speaker B: But I could tell from. [00:11:56] Speaker C: From the way she carried herself and the responses and so on that she was a cushion above the rest. [00:12:01] Speaker B: She definitely was. She was probably one of the most. [00:12:06] Speaker C: Befitting candidates that we've had for a. [00:12:07] Speaker B: Pretty long period of time. And I guess this round, I agree. [00:12:10] Speaker C: With you, this round here will bring. [00:12:13] Speaker B: Us about the same thing. [00:12:14] Speaker C: We're looking for the next. [00:12:15] Speaker B: We don't want to say the next ashe, because. [00:12:17] Speaker D: No, I want everybody to be their own individual, and we want that, you know, definitely. But I will tell you that Ashe is the ashe that you see now is a product of that training and development. You know, she's gone through a lot of training, and she's grown tremendously. And she was so shy when she came in. You know, public speaking was out of the question. Speak of walking in heels was, you know, a task. So all these things, you don't have to come there. Polish diamonds are made under pressure. And anything you want in life, any sort of success you want to achieve, you have to come out of your comfort zone. You have to put in the work. That's what it requires. [00:13:00] Speaker C: And definitely the work starts on Sunday. [00:13:02] Speaker B: At 09:00 a.m. At the Hyatt Regency Hotel. [00:13:07] Speaker C: There's something that I'd like to see. I don't know if it's something you. [00:13:09] Speaker B: All have in mind when you have these shows like America's got Talent and. [00:13:13] Speaker C: All of these things, they do feature pieces from the audition all the way until whenever the individual. [00:13:21] Speaker B: That would be amazing to see to track that progress. [00:13:25] Speaker C: I know that's from somebody who's in India. That's a lot of work. [00:13:28] Speaker D: Well, I'm happy to announce that GML is our media partner, and we are doing a six part series, like a reality style tv show that's going to be aired on CNC Three. So I think people now are going to get a really inside view of what it is from screening to finale. What goes into the entire process, the kind of work that each individual has to put in what is required of a young woman in order to win a competition like this. [00:14:03] Speaker B: That's definitely going to have a lot of following. [00:14:05] Speaker C: It would give a greater appreciation for. [00:14:07] Speaker B: The hard work that goes on. [00:14:08] Speaker C: I want to thank both of you. [00:14:09] Speaker A: Have the best insight, instant feedback, accountability. The all new talk radio Freedom 106.5.
